NEW DELHI: Ahead of New Year’s eve celebrations, the Narcotics Control Bureau has arrested four students from some of the top colleges in Delhi-NCR and seized 1 kg of hashish and three LSD blotters from them. While two students, Gaurav Kumar and Tenzin Phunchog, are from Delhi University’s Hindu College, the other two, Sam Mallick and Anirudh Mathur, are students at Jawaharlal Nehru University and Amity University respectively, according to the bureau. “The hashish was bought from Himachal Pradesh villages for around ~3 lakh. We are yet to identify the source of the LSD blotters that also cost around ~3 lakh,” said SK Jha, deputy director general, NCB (Northern Range).

NEW DELHI: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Thursday announced rs.10 lakh reward for anyone who could give information on Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) student Najeeb Ahmed. Najeeb, a biotechnology student at JNU, went missing from his hostel on October 16, 2016 after an alleged confrontation with student members of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), a body affiliated to Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). “The information regarding Shri Najeeb Ahmed can be given to the CBI over telephone/mobile Nos. 24368641, 24368638, 24368634, 9650394796 and 9650394791,” the CBI said in a statement issued on Thursday. With the Delhi Police failing to find her son, Fatima approached the Delhi high court demanding a CBI probe. On May 16, a bench of Justices GS Sistani and Rekha Palli handed over the investigation to the CBI with the direction that it has to be monitored by an officer not less than the rank of DIG.
