Hackers delete most watched YouTube video Despacito, restore it

YouTube’s Vevo account which shows official music videos, live interviews and more has reportedly been hacked. Vevo accounts of popular singers have been hacked and the most watched music video on YouTube, ‘Despacito’ was deleted. The video was unavailable on YouTube for over an hour but is back again.

This was first shared on The Hacker News which now has a thread with the latest updates on the YouTube hack. The original link of the music video on YouTube read, “This video has been removed by the user”. Also if you searched for “Despacito” on YouTube, the official music video doesn’t appear.

Hackers stole more than 1 billion roubles ($17 million) from Russian banks using the Cobalt Strike security-testing tool in 2017, a central bank official said on Tuesday.

Russia is under intense scrutiny over cyber crime following allegations hackers backed by Moscow have attacked targets in the United States and Europe, accusations the Kremlin has repeatedly denied.

HRD ministry asks colleges to provide free campus WiFi

Colleges and technical institutes across the country may soon offer free Wi-Fi to students and staff.

The Human Resource Development (HRD) ministry has written to vice-chancellors and heads of all higher educational institutions asking them to contact telecom service providers who are willing to provide internet services for free.

Pune will become a smart city soon with the help of Artificial Intelligence

Internet Neutrality in India – TRAI

NEWDELHI: India’s telecom regulator has backed an open and free internet, saying internet service providers cannot discriminate on how people access web content.

In its recommendations issued on Tuesday, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai) upheld the concept of net neutrality and said no Internet Service Provider (ISP) can grant preferential data speeds or treatment to any web content.

“A licensee providing Internet Access Service shall not engage in any discriminatory treatment of content, including based on the sender or receiver, the protocols being used or the user equipment,” Trai said in its muchawaited recommendations.

The global debate over net neutrality revolves around whether ISPs should be treated like public utilities to ensure the internet is open and free, or be allowed to prioritise access to content of their choosing for an extra fee from websites and services.
