A Bahrain-bound NRI has been stranded at the Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport for the past three days after his handbag containing his passport was mistakenly taken away by a passenger to Canada.
Satyendra Singh said he arrived in Delhi from Lucknow on Saturday and was in transit to Bahrain.
“On Saturday afternoon, I reached Delhi and went for security check to catch the international flight. The queue was long so I put my handbag in the scanner. By the time I reached for check and crossed it, I could not find
my bag. I informed the security, who checked the CCTV footage and found that another passenger took the bag and boarded the Air Canada flight. A woman flight attendant of Jet Airways has been arrested by the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) for allegedly trying to smuggle out forex worth more than Rs 3 crore, with the agency on Tuesday saying that the accused was part of a major global hawala syndicate.
The DRI officials intercepted the woman when she was on a flight to Hong Kong on Monday, the agency said in a statement.
“During examination of her checked in and hand baggage, US $4,80,200 wrapped in aluminium foil having a market value of Rs 3.25 crore, has been recovered,” it said.

NEW DELHI : Security officials at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport(IGIA) are in a tizzy after a Pakistan man allegedly approached them and claimed he is from the Inter Services intelligence (ISI).
The Passenger was coming from Dubai and was heading to Kathmandu via Delhi Airport.
The passenger reportedly approached a woman officer at the Airport help desk after arriving from Dubai by Air India flight.
“Instead of heading towards the transfer area, from where he had to catch a flight to kathmandu , he approached the helpdesk. He said that he is an ISI agent and does not want to work anymore. the security agencies and IB officials were informed and they are interrogating him,” said an airport source.
Sources said that there is a possibility that he is lying but they are checking his details through his passport to know where all he had travelled in the past few months.
