Haryana 4th state to ban Padmaavat after CBFC nod

After Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat, Haryana on Tuesday became the fourth state to ban Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat citing “law and order situation in the state”.

Before the assembly polls in Gujarat in November last year, the state government had banned the film, which was earlier titled Padmavati.

Based on 16th century Sufi poet Malik Muhammad Jayasi’s epic poem Padmavat, the movie stars Deepika Padukone in the titular role while Ranveer Singh plays invader Alauddin Khilji. Shahid Kapoor essays the role of Maharawal Ratan Singh.

Haryana minister Anil Vij was quotes by a news agency saying, “The chief minister earlier said we will take a decision after Continue reading

No need for national anthem in theatres

The Centre on Monday asked the Supreme Court to put on hold its order that made playing the national anthem in cinema halls mandatory, effectively reversing its support of the November 2016 directive that drew flak from free speech activists.

More than year after the order was implemented, the government said it had constituted an inter-ministerial committee to frame new guidelines on playing of the national anthem and would require six months to finalise them.

Until then, the Centre urged the top court to “consider restoration of status quo ante, which is restoration of the position as it stood before the order was passed by the court on November 30, 2016” with regard to the direction that mandates playing of national anthem in cinema halls before Continue reading

A 60-year-old woman with her own apartment in a posh central Delhi locality is looking for a bookish romantic handsome man to marry.

The white coiffured Sultana Abdullah is a retired Air India hostess who spent more than 30 happy years on the national carrier’s in-flight cabin crew. These days, she is often seen cycling around her colony’s bylanes.

Ms Abdullah’s principal qualities — in her own words — include her “wicked sense of humour”, “unfailing loyalty to friends” and the fact that “I check my email only once a month.” Her ideal man should be between 50 and 65 and with common sense. He must be proud of his Indian heritage but should have western sensibilities. “I prefer a happy balance of liberal and conservative instincts.” The suitable candidate should be fond of good music and must not talk politics around the dining table under any circumstances. He should be sufficiently wealthy to take care of his comforts — “at least.” Continue reading

Five major modifications needed in Padmavati including name of the movie- Censor board

The censor board on Saturday said it would clear controversial Bollywood film Padmavati after suggesting five major modifications, including changing the title to Padmavat, but the move failed to pacify Rajput groups that allege the movie distorts history.

A fringe group warned of vandalising cinema halls if the ~150crore movie was released and Vishvaraj Singh, a descendent of the royal family of Mewar, called the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) “ignoble and unprofessional”.

The CBFC agreed to clear Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavati with a U/A certificate and asked the filmmakers to put in a disclaimer that the movie does not claim historical accuracy and does not in any way subscribe to or seek to glorify Jauhar — the banned practice of a Continue reading

SHE WAS INSANE ! – Chapter 4 – Its too much Interesting

Soon enough, hanging out with her so called friends was a normal thing now. Getting up with her friends was easy tho apart from the sass they had. While which bonds between me and Rashi grew strong, we started exploring each other, our likes -dislikes were somewhat shared now. There were two boys in her group called Tanmay and Viren from which Tanmay was obsessed with flirting with any random girl he met , Viren was somewhat nerd like me but had the physic which somewhat resembled Captain America, While there was a girl called Ananya , the girl any guy kind of desired , she was like a wild fire for which any guy would melt off but she was kind of mean at the core. I usually stayed away from her and conversed with her only when Rashi was around, she kind of acted weird with me for which I felt insecure ,I don’t know why.
“Want some popcorn eh?”, Tanmay said while offering Ananya a bucket of popcorn.
